学問の神様、菅原道真公が無実の罪を訴えるために何度も登頂し祈りを捧げたとされる由緒ある山、天拝山を登ります。天拝山は「西の都」の南に位置する比較的登りやすい低山で、多くの登山者で賑わう人気のスポットです。901年、右大臣であった菅原道真公は、藤原時平に陥れられて大宰府に左遷されました。道真公は山の麓の紫藤の滝で身を清め、山頂で七日七夜にわたって天に無実を訴えたという伝承が残されています。そのため、この山は「天拝山」と呼ばれるようになりました。天拝山の山頂からは博多湾まで一望でき、眼下には歴史と文化の交流が広がる「西の都」を見渡すことができます。歴史的なエピソードに触れながら、美しい自然を楽しむことができます。

Climb Mount Tenpai, a historic mountain where Sugawara Michizane, the god of learning, climbed many times to pray for innocence. Located south of the Western Capital, Mount Tenpai is a relatively easy mountain to climb, and is a popular spot visited by many climbers. In 901, Sugawara Michizane, who was the Minister of the Right, was exiled to Dazaifu due to a conspiracy by Fujiwara Tokihira. There is a legend that Michizane purified himself at Fujinotaki Falls at the foot of the mountain and prayed for innocence for seven days and seven nights at the summit, and this legend is the reason why the mountain was named "Mount Tenpai."
From the summit of Mount Tenpai, you can enjoy a panoramic view that stretches all the way to Hakata Bay while looking down on the Western Capital, a crossroads of history and culture. You can enjoy beautiful nature while learning about important historical episodes.
We also welcome private bookings for small groups. Please feel free to ask.
